Itinerary

Take-off is on January 18th, 2016. First two months will be spent on the Mexico-Belize-Guatemala –axis without specific plans. The only intention is to dive into history, culture, language and seas. Any spare time will also be spent in awe.

Pacific Crest Trail, PCT
In March we’ll begin our long journey from the US-Mexico border on the Pacific Crest Trail. The goal is to hike 2600 miles/ 4300 kilometers in about five months. The timeframe is set by the US Tourist Visa and weather conditions on the trail. We are definitely not looking forward to finding ourselves on trail in an autumn snowstorm without valid travel documents.

Nearly all preparations are aimed at completing the hike, from minimal training to gear purchases.

The hike itself was born on spur of the moment. “-Hey, there’s this little hike. You wanna go? -Yeah, I just read about it too. We could try it. -Okay, we’re going.”

If we make it all the way to Canada, on foot, it is a) a miracle and b) proves that anyone can do it. According to Tuomas, it is an option to quit the hike if we feel like it. Anna, however, holds onto the thought that hike continues, even if heads start falling off. Stay tuned to find out who feeds whom to a bear. Or, escapes into the wild with all supplies.

Life after the hike is a mystery. Thoughts are on the beaches of Central and South America. However, any tropical corner of the world is a possibility. Experience has shown that oceanfront is intriguing after dust and rocks.

Journey will last as long as possible. What are return tickets?
